There are times that you just can’t get a sharp image of objects. It doesn’t matter what exposure setting, ISO setting, or for that matter, how much light there is. The image below is one of those. It was a bright day and very hot in Ft. Lauderdale.
That is the problem. The air is so hot everything is shimmering (refracted), wavy, similar to looking through water that is moving.
If you look closely, you can see that nothing is really sharp. The wings of the plane is where it’s most obvious (click on the image to see it larger). So you hope for the best. But, in some ways, it can add interest to an image.
